Two Cows by Eric Ravilious was painted in 1935 and a year later was bought by a Mr Coe. It was then inherited by his son Gregory Coe and recently sold for £145,000, £50,000 of which was Art Funded. This raises all kinds of questions about money (Ravilious himself would have been lucky to receive £100) and value and reputation and ‘great art’ and so on; nevertheless, it is excellent that the lovely Fry Art Gallery now has the painting, more details here.
