In October we publish a selection of short stories by the Yorkshire writer Malachi Whitaker (1895-1976). This portrait of her by Jacob Kramer is in the possession of the Whitaker family. And we are on the hunt for a textile for the endpaper which has some of the boldness and impact of the pattern worn by Malachi in the portrait – no dainty pastels for her.
